Undergraduate Programs Industry Clusters Program

Preparing leaders of tomorrow to make impacts in today's top industries.

First of Its Kind

The Clusters program is the first of its kind in the nation, and is designed to help students dive into a specific industry and stand out in a crowded marketplace.

Year-Long Focus

C-suite executives and Fisher College of Business experts take high-achieving undergraduate students deep inside the industry of their choice for a full academic year. The result: a depth of material and live business experiences typically found at the graduate level.

Sought-After Students

Industry Clusters students are uniquely prepared to step out of the classroom and into the practice of business. To date, 72% of eligible Industry Clusters students have secured full-time internships or jobs with leading companies across the nation and around the world.

Explore the Clusters

  • Business Analytics

Students will work with leading companies to dive deep into the world of “big data,” making critical connections, improving strategic decision making, and optimizing performance.

  • Consulting

By engaging with executives in the field and academic experts, students will learn what it takes to specialize in the fast paced, highly relevant profession of consulting.

  • Consumer Packaged Goods

Examine the business practice of companies that have created some of the strongest brands in the world by organizations that are renowned for their marketing, management development, and breakthrough innovations.

  • Energy & Sustainability

Through action-based course work and out-of-the-classroom experience, students will learn and explore some of most important issues facing companies today with “going green”.

  • Health Care

Students will learn all aspects of health care — from discovery and development of pharmaceutical products to their distribution and the many businesses that intersect along the way.

  • Manufacturing

This cluster allows students to be immersed in every aspect of manufacturing and to gain firsthand experience with timely topics such as the labor force, technology, robotics, procurement, and Lean Six Sigma.

  • Middle Market

This cluster will expose students to the unique characteristics, capabilities, challenges, and opportunities in the middle market, which represents companies with annual revenues between $10 million and $1 billion.

  • Retail

Students will gain in-depth knowledge about the retail industry by being introduced to the conceptualization and production of goods, comparing in-store and online shopping strategies and exploring e-commerce channels.

The Industry Clusters program was my most valuable experience at Ohio State. It closed the gap between classroom and career, and led to a job offer from one of the participating companies.
