FisherConnect: Employer Guide

This guide is intended to walk employers through the basics of accessing and utilizing FisherConnect. For more advanced assistance, refer to the FisherConnect Frequently Asked Questions page or contact Susan Geier at geier_3@fisher.osu.edu or 614-292-8587.

Get Advice on Recruiting Fisher Students and Alumni

Call our office at 614-292-6024 to speak with a recruiting consultant. Our experienced staff members will help you: 

  1. Identify the type of student you’d like to target (undergraduate, graduate, alumni, specific majors, experience levels, etc.);
  2. Discuss how to target and promote your opportunity to the appropriate students or alumni;
  3. Schedule interview dates and reserve interview space; and
  4. Identify methods to build your employer brand, meet potential candidates and promote your opportunities through on-campus information sessions, career fairs, workshops and networking events;
  5. Periodically evaluate your recruiting strategy to ensure long-term success.
Register with FisherConnect
  1. Follow the link to the left for FisherConnect
  2. Click on the link for Recruiter Login for FisherConnect
  3. Click on the “Click Here to Register with FisherConnect”
  4. Your access will be approved within two business days; you will receive an email message notifying you of your access.  
Post a job or internship Without On-Campus Interviews in FisherConnect
  1. Either login to FisherConnect or Create a FisherConnect Account
  2. After logging in, place cursor on Job Postings Without Schedules in the tool bar at the top of the page and then select New Job
  3. Enter the job information and application instructions
Tips for posting a job or internship
  • Include a date for when you want the position posted and for when you want to the job posting to expire.
  • Take time to choose criteria you want the applicants to meet – degree, majors, GPA, graduation date range, citizenship status.
  • Provide application instructions.
Schedule on-campus interviews
  1. Call the Recruiting Coordinator at 614-292-8587 to reserve your interview space
  2. Then either login to FisherConnect or Create a FisherConnect Account
  3. After logging in, place cursor on Schedules/Jobs for On-Campus Interviews in the tool bar at the top of the page and then select On-Campus Interview Date Request
  4. Add your job description and selection criteria and hit Save
  5. IMPORTANT then complete the Interview Request Preferences so we know how to build your interview schedule and hit Save
Tips for On-Campus Interview Schedule Requests
  • If you have several jobs and want separate interview schedules for each position, make separate On-Campus Interview Schedule Requests for each job and schedule.
  • If you want to combine the interview schedules for more than one job, then add the jobs to the same On-Campus Interview Schedule Request.
  • Call first to reserve your interview rooms, interview space is not reserved until your request is approved by the Recruiting Coordinator.
Search for Resumes 
  1. Either login to FisherConnect or Create a FisherConnect Account
  2. Click on Student Search
  3. Select search criteria
  4. Click on Search button
  5. Click on Select All button to select resumes
  6. You can choose to create a packet of resumes that can be viewed and saved as an Adobe PDF or you can choose to email the PDF packet of resume to yourself. 
Register for a Career Fair
  1. Register with FisherConnect if you haven’t already done so
  2. Login to FisherConnect
  3. Place your cursor on the “Career Events” tool in the red tool bar
  4. Click on "Career Events List" to view the list of active events for employers
  5. Find the event in the list and click on the "Register" link to the right of the event
  6. Fill out the form  
Send a Mass Email to Students Fitting Your Selection Criteria
  1. Login to FisherConnect
  2. Click on Student Search in the tool bar
  3. Select search criteria
    Advice:
    It may take more than one search to refine your results
    When making selections for your search, keep in mind students do not always select everything that applies to their profile
    Selecting Majors — click the Add/Remove button, to expand the list of choices for each degree click on the plus sign, then check the box next to the major(s) to select, then click “Close Window” to save selections
    Typical searches focus on: (Please point out each of these on the web page)
    Graduation date range
    Majors
    Degree
    Search Status
    Overall GPA
    Work Authorization
  4. Click on Search to run search
  5. Click on Mass Email button
  6. Review list of students and check box to left of student’s name to exclude from distribution of message
  7. Click Continue
  8. Confirm selections and click Proceed to write and send message
  9. Write message and click Send Email for message to be sent
    Tip: When adding additional recipients separate email addresses with a comma but no spaces between the commas and addresses
Search for Students
  1. Login to FisherConnect
  2. Click on Student Search in the tool bar
  3. Select search criteria
    Advice:

  5. To view resumes, either click on the select all button or check the box to the left of the individual names
  6. OR , Click on the box to the left of “Check to email packet to self” if you want the resumes emailed to your account
  7. Click on Create Packet to complete the process
