GLOBAL Vantage for Windows on CD-ROM : The International Financial Database

GLOBAL Vantage for Windows on CD-ROM is available to colleges and universities at a substantially reduced annual fee. In order to qualify, the service must be used for teaching and non-commercial academic research only.

GLOBAL Vantage for Windows provides you with critical financial information on a wide range of industrial, insurance, banking, and other financial services companies. Its wealth of useful market data includes market indexes and index constituents, monthly price histories, and dividends.

Financial information includes detailed income statements, balance sheets, and supplementary data. Plus, GLOBAL Vantage for Windows allows you to perform rapid cross-border analyses on any data or ratios you choose. This is the same database used extensively by the federal government, corporate, and financial communities.

This unique database of over 10,965 companies consists of the following:

• Industrial/Commercial - 10,180 companies - this format supports specific industry analysis with up to 280 annual data items with comprehensive balance sheet and income statement data
• Financial Services - 780 companies - this format supports specific industry analyses with up to 600 annual data items with comprehensive balance sheet and income statement data
• Prices/Dividends/Earnings - in-depth pricing and market related information monthly from 1984 to present on 12,235 issues and 90 indexes in 65 countries including Europe and Asia, the Americas, Africa and the Middle East
• 110 currencies (including 37 new currencies of emerging markets) with three translation choices - month-end, monthly average, and 12-month moving average. Translations may be automatically made from a country's native currency to any other currency.
• Downloading/Reporting/Searching - the Report Library contains standard reports to allow presentations in formats common within countries or you can use report builders to customize your own which may be printed or downloaded to ASCII files for use in other software such as Excel, Lotus, PC SAS, and any software accepting ASCII files. Also, ability to quickly search using commonly requested criteria as well as the ability to screen on any variable or combination of variables for any time period.
• Spreadsheets - access GLOBAL Vantage information directly from within Excel and Lotus spreadsheets (DDE - dynamic data exchange).
• Searching - predefined screens
• Proprietary Data - can easily add your own proprietary data, or alter existing data, for customized analysis. This data then becomes part of the GLOBAL Vantage database and can be accessed by item or through reports.
• Predefined Concepts - software includes over 180 calculated items we call concepts. This capability allows you to create custom complex equations and save them as concepts for use in custom reports.
• Business Descriptions - provides a brief overview for over 5,000 North American and Rest of the World companies, including its lines of business, product lines, and some general segment information.
• Economic Sector and Industry Sector Data - enables you to use current sectors in stock performance analysis to compare a company to its peers. Economic Sector codes categorize all companies into one of nine broad economic groups and the Industry Sector codes further refine each classification into a more specific industry group.
• Supporting footnotes - accounting standards, valuation principles, and methods and levels of consolidation are detailed
• History - data for most companies from 1984 forward (12-year format)
